Modern Web Content Management at Freie Universität Berlin
At Freie Universität Berlin departments and institutions build and maintain their websites with a content management system (CMS). Users can focus on content as no programming skills are required to create websites with the CMS. Advanced users may customize elements and appearance of their web presentations, while the CMS ensures basic corporate design compliancy. A fine-grained rights management supports multilevel publishing workflows.
CeDiS manages and maintains the CMS, and offers user trainings as well as individual support and consulting. Since its introduction in 2005 all major departments have migrated their websites to the CMS and more than 1,100 users were instructed on working with the system. CeDiS also established a key user group to discuss and influence system adjustments and improvements.
